Personal injury is a legal term for an injury to the body, mind or emotions, as opposed to an injury to property. The term is most commonly used to refer to a type of tort lawsuit alleging that the plaintiff's injury has been caused by the negligence of another, but also arises in defamation torts.

I am looking for a company that offers personal injury protection without having to insure a vehicle?
Q. I work for a company that is requiring that I have a policy of personal injury protection. I have called various insurance companies and they do not offer any policies without insuring a vehicle. Any help?

A. Something wrong with this picture. What is this insurance supposed to cover? What instances of injury are you likely to be susceptable to? This sounds like the company is trying to avoid Workmans Comp insurance. If you find a company to insure you (which is doubtful), explain why you need it. My concern is that even if you get the coverage, it will be voided in case of a work accident. Be sure what you are getting in to.

A. dlavaee, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I was injured once in Kansas when a car backed over my right foot at work. My company tried to settle with me fast because I knew they were try to get me to sign some papers to release them from responsibility. I called a nearby personal injury lawyer in my area who provided me excellent advice and I was able to get a decent settlement to cover my insurance bills that weren't covered by my work insurance. I'd find a personal injury in your area. My accident lawyer was willing to answer any and all questions I had because they expect to make some money from any potential case. Try calling a accident lawyer to see if they can help. Good Luck

what is the effect of a personal injury payment of 2800 on means tested benefits and housing benefit?
Q. ive heard the savings limit for somebody on means tested benefit is 6000 and a sliding scale to 16000 ,if i only have capital of 2800 does this affect benefits and does a personal injury payment count as capital or something else? please advise.
Asked by ?????????? - Tue Jun 2 08:48:46 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's not the savings themselves that affect benefits but the interest gained on the savings. Interest on savings is classed as income this is why it affect peoples benefits. Any savings or sums of money under 6000 is not taken into account at all when calculating benefits so your 2800 will have no affect on anything you receive. Enjoy the extra money :)
