Entertainment journalism is an umbrella term used to describe all forms of journalism that focus on the entertainment business and its products. Like fashion journalism, entertainment journalism covers industry-specific news while targeting general audiences beyond those working in the industry itself. Common forms include television and film criticism, music journalism, video game journalism and celebrity coverage. This journalism-related article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.

From Google News Search: "Entertainment journalism" What is better to major in? English or Journalism? I'm going to be a sophomore in college and I'm confused Q. I love writing and reading. I went to school last year for horses and ended decided to transfer because I loved my English classes most. I can't decide between English and Journalism. Something about Journalism is so intriguing and I seem to excel at it. I took my first Journalism class this past semester and got a B in it, and enjoyed all the assignments, it wasn't even like work for me. I am always considering English though because something about it seems a bit more practical and like I'd be well rounded. The issue I have with the Journalism curriculum is that it's all about "reporting" in different settings, it seems too narrowed down. I am very sure that I want to write or edit in some capacity. I don't want to write hard news, more… [cont.] Asked by meg31816 - Tue Jun 19 16:33:35 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you're considering going into journalism in the long-haul, choose something other than English or Journalism majors, but take classes in each. The reason for this is two-fold: one, if you major in criminal justice and your journalism career doesn't work out, you have a broad base of knowledge to fall back on. And two, knowing how to write is basic. It's very difficult to take someone who has no skills or know-how as a writer and make them into a good one. It's not something that's learned. All the time, I hear other writers say that they wish they could have majored in something other than journalism, because they had what they needed for that career in the 8th grade. The reason I say this is that you can know how to write, and as… [cont.] Answered by red_writer - Wed Jun 20 08:30:36 2007 What would be a good choice for a minor if I am majoring in print journalism? Q. We have to look hard for good news coverage in this country. Entertainment should not be a component of news journalism. Best to watch/read an independent news provider, that does not have a political agenda or a commercial interest. Try to watch BBC World on TV, listen to BBC World on the radio. Euronews is a channel provided by the EU and has no political or commercial agenda, they do often 5 minutes of just pictures without commentary, so you can make up your own mind.
